At Hamsey Community Primary School, we believe children learn best in school. Good attendance matters for their progress and wellbeing, so our priority is always for children to be in school.
Remote education is only offered as a last resort. It might be used if the school has to close, for example because of severe weather, or if a child cannot attend for a period of time but is well enough to learn. It is not an alternative to coming to school.
When remote education is needed, teachers will set work through Google Classroom that follows the learning happening in class as closely as possible. Children are expected to follow our usual rules for behaviour and online safety.
Please note that a child learning remotely is still recorded as absent. We will work with families to help children return to school as soon as possible.
