SEND & Inclusion at Hamsey
Our school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) oversees the additional needs provision across the school. Children can have special education needs if they have difficulties in one or more of the following areas, requiring support that's additional to and different from the support provided to other children:
· Communication and interaction
· Cognition and learning
· Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
· Sensory and/or physical needs
At Hamsey, we are passionate about inclusion. We support all children to achieve to the best of their ability, whether this is through quality first teaching, our inclusive environments, additional interventions, e.g. nurture groups, sensory circuits etc., or working alongside external agencies to ensure that the children get the targeted support and provision they need. To read more about what this looks like in our school, please read our SEND Information Report and SEND policy, which can be found in the tab to the left.
If you feel your child has Special Educational Needs or you would like to discuss your child’s needs, please contact Mrs Sophie James (Hamsey SENDCo) on 01273 400370 or email hamseyoffice@skylarkfed.education.
